Empowering Youth Safety and Success 

Prevention Works — It's Working Here!

Alexandria, Ashland, Bridgewater, Bristol, Campton, Danbury, Ellsworth, Groton, Hebron, Holderness, Lincoln, New Hampton, Plymouth Rumney, Thorton, Waterville Valley, Wentworth and Woodstock.

In 2010, CADY served 7,307 children and youth, and 2,969 adults providing information, support, and skill building to promote safe choices and healthy behaviors for our youth.

The Year 2010 - CADY in Action!

  • POSITIVE YOUTH DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS:  The LAUNCH Youth Entrepreneurship/Employment Program.  20 local youth participated in year-round skill building and paid summer employment at Frosty Scoops (Sponsored by CADY and the Common Man).  The LAUNCH is the only youth employment program in our region. 
    • Youth/Advisory and Advocacy Council:  12 local youth created PSA's Mentoring, and Peer Leadership.
  • COURT DIVERSION:  Restorative Justice Program.  23 first-time youth offenders made accountability to victims of juvenile crime, learned effective coping strategies, and achieved lasting behavior change.
  • COMMUNITY ASSESMENT:  TAP (Teen Assessment Project Survey) administered to 1,207 youth in Pemi-Baker and Newfound Regions.  Data informs appropriate community responses for risk reduction/prevention.
  • COLLABORATION:  Over 100 coalition meetings convened/attended.
  • YOUTH LEADERSHIP TRAININGS:  Two Youth Leadership Prevention Conferences were sponsored for over 300 SAU #4 and SAU #48 middle school students: 22 local youth attended the NH Leadership Conference.
  • PROM SAFETY INITIATIVES:  at Plymouth Regional High School and Newfound Regional High School.
  • MOTIVATIONAL SPEAKERS:  Four dynamic speakers inspired hundreds of students and parents.
  • REGIONAL PREVENTION CONFERENCE:  112 community partners, educators, parents, and youth attended.
  • PARTY PATROLS:  CADY assisted Newfound Area Police Departments with implementation of this new enforcement program designed to reduce underage drinking.
  • PARENT EDUCATION:  463 parents received education and skill-building strategies to guide good choices.
  • MEDIA CAMPAIGN:  Thousands of local readers benefitted from the weekly CADY Corner Columns in the Record Enterprise, Halt the Harm Advertorials, CADY e-Connection, and school newsletters.
  • INFORMATION DISSEMINATION:  In six months, CADY doubled prevention print materials to parents and community members and launched a new interactive website with a new PayPal component for donations.
  • COMMUNITY EDUCATION AND OUTREACH:  CADY launched a popular new Lunch-n-Learn Series / six sessions engaged 155 community members on topics of local concern.  Rx Abuse:  Underage Drinking:  Marijuana.
  • BUILDING CAPACITY FOR BETTER RESULTS:  5,383 Volunteer Hours were contributed to CADY programs by caring community members who have made good things happen for kids!
  • SUSTAINABILITY:  CADY implemented our first fundraisers:
    • Mini Golf Tournament:  125 community members participated in raising $3,650 for the LAUNCH
    • Connections for Kids Raffle:  1,000 tickets sold raising $4,020 for the Restorative Justice Program.
