Media Campaign
Spotlighting Prevention Through the Media
CADY writes a number of columns for area media, along with Letters to the Editor and Public Service Announcements focusing on the harm related to youth alcohol, tobacco and other drug use. Our goal is to spotlight issues and specific strategies for parents and the community at large to effect environmental change.
A partnership with our local paper, the Record Enterprise, helps generate sponsorship for a quarterly prevention page called Halt the Harm. These full-page advertorials are sponsored by area businesses and organizations that support the health and safety of our youth. Past editions have focused on underage drinking, prom safety, and parent involvement as the most influential protective factor in preventing youth substance use.
Our media partners include:
- A weekly column – the CADY Corner in the Record Enterprise
- A monthly column – the CADY Connection in the Hometown Voice
- Weekly / bi-weekly ads for Project Monitor 2-1-1 - the Record Enterprise and the Pennysaver
Prevention news and fast facts on:
- Pemi-Baker Community Access Television Channel 20
- Newfound Region Public Access Television Channel 24
Prevention articles and facts in:
- The Plymouth Regional High School Parent Newsletter
- The Newfound Regional High School Parent Newsletter
In 2007, CADY launched an online newsletter called the CADY e-Connection. The e-Connection covers topics of national and local concern, spotlights youth activities, coalition accomplishments and keeps membership informed of upcoming education opportunities and community events.
