About Us

“Prevention is Everyone's Business”

Since 1999, CADY, a non-profit organization, has served the communities of Lin-Wood, Newfound, and Pemi-Baker regions in various capacities with a focus on comprehensive, outcome-based prevention including environmental prevention strategies and evidence-based programs.  Free community education programs and activities provided by CADY include:

  • involvement in local and state initiatives via administration of bi-annual youth and community assessments;
  • convening stakeholders and participating in regional prevention councils;
  • developing comprehensive Media Campaigns;
  • hosting parenting workshops focused on strengthening family bonds;
  • providing chemical-free school- and community-based activity programs for youth that promote resiliency;
  • community-based Launch Youth Entrepreneurship Program in partnership with the Common Man Inn;
  • paid summer employment for youth;
  • the YAAC (Youth Advisory and Advocacy Council);
  • Annual Youth Leadership Conferences in Newfound and Pemi-Baker Regions;
  • Project Monitor— anonymous tip line to share information about possible underage parties to prevent harmful situations before they occur;
  • Restorative Justice Program, community-based juvenile justice is the sole court diversion program for the Plymouth District Court;
  • referral source for Prime for Life “Under 21” a research-based education program for youth and adults focused on alcohol and drug prevention and intervention.

The bottom line is—prevention strategies and positive youth development programs are a sound investment in the future of our youth and the communities we serve.
